Capabilities

One protective envelope,
from installation to individual.

Velatus develops passive and active counter-UAS systems and integrates them into a single layered defense. What follows is the publicly releasable overview — full capability briefings are available to qualified organizations.

01 / Passive Countermeasures

Awareness without emission.

Passive systems detect and characterize the threat while giving nothing away. Velatus passive countermeasures build persistent situational awareness and reduce what the adversary can find, fix, and target.

  • Passive RF detection and emitter characterization of UAS control and video links
  • Multi-sensor fusion — RF, acoustic, and electro-optical cueing in one track picture
  • Signature management and concealment for protected sites and formations
  • Early warning distributed to command posts and individual operators

02 / Active Countermeasures

Defeat options that scale with the threat.

When a track is confirmed hostile, the defense needs options — graduated, selectable, and appropriate to the environment. Velatus active countermeasures give commanders defeat mechanisms matched to threat class and rules of engagement, from reversible non-kinetic effects to directed interception.

  • Non-kinetic disruption of hostile UAS command, control, and navigation
  • Directed interception effectors for terminal defense
  • Graduated response — escalate only as far as the threat requires
  • Safe employment in cluttered, populated, and friendly-spectrum environments

Detailed performance characteristics are export-controlled and provided under appropriate agreements only.

03 / Soldier Protection

The last ring of the defense is a person.

Fixed-site defenses don't follow a patrol. Velatus extends the protective envelope to the dismounted soldier with lightweight, low-power systems that warn, orient, and protect the individual at the tactical edge — where warning time is measured in seconds.

  • Wearable threat warning — direction and class of approaching UAS
  • Soldier-borne passive sensing that feeds the wider defense picture
  • Individual and squad-level countermeasures for terminal protection
  • Minimal size, weight, power, and cognitive burden by design

Integration

Every layer feeds the next.

Capabilities are designed as one system, not a catalog. Detection cues tracking, tracking informs identification, and identification unlocks the right defeat option — across fixed sites, vehicles, and dismounted formations.

LAYER 01

Detect

Passive RF, acoustic, and electro-optical sensors establish persistent, emission-free surveillance of the low-altitude airspace.

LAYER 02

Track

Fused sensor data maintains continuous custody of each contact, building the fire-control-quality track the defeat layer depends on.

LAYER 03

Identify

Threat classification separates hostile systems from friendly and neutral air traffic — the decision that governs everything downstream.

LAYER 04

Defeat

Graduated countermeasures — passive, non-kinetic, and kinetic — neutralize the threat with effects proportionate to the situation.
