Layered by design
No single sensor sees everything and no single effector stops everything. We design defense in depth: each layer degrades the threat and buys decision time for the next. A defense that depends on one perfect component is a defense that fails on a cloudy day.
Passive before active
Every emission is a signature, and every signature is a target. Our architecture favors passive detection and signature management first — building awareness the adversary cannot detect, jam, or home in on — and reserves active measures for when they are decisive.
Open integration
Velatus systems are built to plug into the command-and-control our customers already field, not to replace it. Open interfaces, published integration points for partners, and no vendor lock-in engineered into the architecture.
The soldier is the requirement
Fielded systems compete for a soldier's weight, power, and attention. We treat size, weight, power, and cognitive load as first-order constraints — a warning the operator doesn't notice in time is a warning that doesn't exist.
Security as discipline
We publish what helps customers evaluate us and nothing that helps the threat adapt. Operational security shapes our engineering process, our supply chain, and this website. The restraint you see here is the product working.
